Description

Designed for a young designer from Curitiba, this apartment was conceived from the desire to transform a single space into a continuous experience. The 78 m² apartment originally had two bathrooms and a laundry area adjacent to the kitchen. The reconfiguration of the layout—converting the second bathroom into a laundry—redistributed functions and opened up the entry area for additional storage, optimizing the use of space.

From this point on, custom millwork becomes the guiding thread of the project, taking on an architectural role by defining boundaries without interrupting sightlines. It conceals the laundry, doors, and appliances, consolidating itself into a single, almost sculptural block that organizes daily life. At the heart of the project, the central shelving unit follows this concept, dividing the living room and bedroom while opening up at certain points to display the resident’s records, books, and objects. The idea of a monolith is also expressed in the kitchen island, clad in Piracema granite, like a large stone block anchored in the space.

In the living room, bathroom, and bedroom, a composition of primary colors is explored, emerging as protagonists that weave movement and personality throughout the interiors. This palette appears both in the furniture and in the monolithic yellow flooring that runs throughout the apartment, reinforcing the sense of continuity.

To complete the atmosphere, the furniture draws on icons of modern design—timeless pieces that converse with one another and also incorporate touches of color that enrich the composition.

The result is an apartment that combines formal coherence and vitality, revealing a precise and continuous space.
